Gail Small

Gail Small is an attorney and Executive Director of Native Action, a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the water, air, land and culture of the Northern Cheyenne Reservation in southeastern Montana. Native Action engages in grassroots organizing, educational outreach, policy research and litigation, and addresses environmental justice issues across the Northern Great Plains region. Gail Small is a Kellogg Leadership Fellow, as well as a graduate of the University of Montana with a law degree from the University of Oregon. A former member of the Northern Cheyenne Tribal Council, she remains active in national and international indigenous issues. Her work has earned her numerous awards, including Ms. Magazine's 1995 Gloria Steinem Women of Vision Award.
